Singer Russell Louder’s music video captures a winter wonderland

For Fans of: Annie Lennox, Sophie,London Grammar,Lisbon Lux Records, Russell Louder

Opening with a shaky camera motion capturing blankets of snow-covered forest wonderland paired with weighted yet vibrant piano keys, the ‘HOME’ music video featuring singer Russell Louder will give one chills – literally and figuratively. The single featured on the singer’s debut album release HUMOR (released via Lisbon Lux Records) is a dramatic introduction to Louder’s colourful electro-pop world.

With lyrics like: “Ooh- where does this road begin? / ‘Cause I’ve been wandering / Too far for far too long” matches ideally alongside the visuals of the singer travelling down the snowy paths in search of their new home to call their own. The video directed by Bobby Léon definitely plays with the words of Louder’s track and the result is a black and white winter wonderland visual experience that will have one singing along within seconds. Further goosebumps ensue as the video cuts between empty backgrounds that focus on the singer’s vocals, which are an undeniable distraction from the visuals as their vocals shine and fill the room instantly – leaving Russell’s chimney top vocals as a focal point.

Django Django share rave remix of song ‘Glowing In The Dark’

FFO: FFO: Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem,Django Django

Glowing in the Dark, the second single from Django Django’s new album of the same name has, to date, enjoyed two incredible remixes.  The first courtesy of one of dance music’s most exciting producers and DJ’s Dance System and the second from heavyweight electronic dance legends Hot Chip.  To complete the remix trilogy the band stay closer to home – on Django Django’s Iridescent remix the band utilise their own renowned remixing skills to deliver a euphoric, rave inspired delirious take on the original.

Django Django’s Iridescent remix comes accompanied by a stunning original video from Mortis Studio.  Made during the first lockdown in a guerrilla style shoot in Portland USA, the video highlights an array of distinct characters each experiencing their own dizzying journey through the remix.

In the band’s own words:

This remix was done by Dave and Tommy during the first lock down and we decided to ask Mortis to do some visuals because we’re big fans of their work. What they came up with was perfect for the track. Hope you enjoy

Over the course of their extraordinarily accomplished discography to date, Django Django have constantly headed left where others have gone right. Described by The Guardian as “capable of making music that sounds close to perfection”, they are known for their genre defying eclectic sound and their new album “Glowing in the Dark” heralds, once again, the beginning of a thrilling new era for the band.

It’s a glorious move forward, infused with the kind of freshness and confidence that comes hand in hand with a newfound optimism.

Renowned DJ Franky Wah teams up with top collaborator LOWES

FFO: Camelphat, MK, Franky Wah

Franky Wah and LOWES team up on distinguished and alluring new single ‘Not In Love’, released via Ministry of Sound. The major dance music up-and-comer also announces a string of live headline dates for October.

As Franky Wah continues to further plot his course within the realms of a deep sonic space, ‘Not In Love’ is the next chapter in his voyage, and one that has been blessed with the hypnotic vocals of LOWES. The singer provides the perfect accompaniment to Franky Wah’s raw but euphoric production, rendering the final product as one of pure refinement and quality. ‘Not In Love’ is a true manifestation of the quintessential dance sound that Franky Wah is rapidly growing to be associated with. On the record’s inspiration and processes, Franky mused:

“The making of this track has been a process that has taken nearly a year as I really believed that this was a special record and was quite selective about vocal styles.  Lowes hit me up with some amazing vocal ideas but they weren’t quite right for this one so we all spent some time going back and forth and a few weeks later I received the take that you’re hearing now. There was no tweaking, no amendments, it just had it all for me.”

LOWES have built a sterling reputation as one of the fastest rising vocal talents in electronic music, with 2020 seeing them work with names such as Camelphat, Sub Focus & High Contrast. With Franky Wah now to join her esteemed list of collaborators, the future continues to brighten for the burgeoning artist.

‘Not In Love’ follows a career-affirming 2020 for Franky, which included putting out a collaborative EP with dance music icon Sasha and dropping his debut mixtape The Revival Vol. 1, which included singles ‘You’re Not Alone’ and ‘Come Together’. The latter was nominated for Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record Of The Year’ and certified as her ‘Tune Of The Week’ and ‘Hottest Record In The World’ on BBC Radio 1, as well as garnering support from Pete Tong and MistaJam. With a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix now under his belt, he spent an impressive 10 weeks on the Radio 1 Playlist, 5 weeks of which were on the A-List. The producer also made waves featuring in the globally renowned GQ Magazine in 2020, with an extensive feature focusing on the rising talent’s expansive repertoire.

Throughout the month of October, Franky will take his club-ready sound across the UK in the form of a full live setup as part of a 6-date live tour stopping off in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Sign up for pre-sale tickets via frankywah.com.

Once again Franky Wah delivers a profound composition with all the dancefloor potency you’d come to expect from Ministry of Sound, with the sophistication of a producer years his senior.

Issuing a challenge to the control that streaming giants such as Spotify have established, Clarian is betting he will sell his aptly titled new album Whale Shark for nothing less than 100 thousand dollars in Ethereum. On the album, listeners will find the noteworthy single ‘Strange Vibrations’. Up for auction is the one and only authentic copy of the album with the publishing rights included as an NFT. The auction ends March 20, 2021, at 4 AM GMT with the Electronic Music Community and Culture (EMC^2) room, on the Clubhouse messaging app, hosting the final album auction countdown.
