With an album on the way on the 22nd of October via Universal Music Sweden, singer Agnes leaves us feeling like we are invincible with the new dance-pop gem ‘Here Comes The Night’. Releasing a chart-topping international hit as well as a top-charting album in the last few years, Agnes proves to be a dynamite act yet again with this latest offering.
Fronting splendidly eccentric swag in 2021, Agnes previously elaborated on the meaning of the track and video ‘24 hours’ via socials: “When we need to process a dramatic change in our life, we go through different stages of emotion. The video for 24 hours is based on that journey, and the different personalities that it brings to light. All tailored to help us cope with everything from sadness and frustration to anger and grief. It’s not pretty, but without them we wouldn’t be rewarded with the powerful energy that then helps us move forward”
‘Here Comes The Night’ feels similar to these themes that embrace setting yourself free emotionally. This track in particular also focuses on losing your inhibitions and letting yourself make decisions that feel right at the moment. Whether that is going on that bad date or buying that overpriced coat, we need to let ourselves try out new things and make mistakes in order to grow and flourish.

Los Angeles native Sha Sha Kimbo undeniably lives for the rave. As exemplified through her every intentional move as a producer, DJ, promotor, radio host and label owner, Sha Sha radiates an unwavering love for amplifying, nurturing and supporting the culture of underground electronic music and the community that surrounds it, with her forthcoming release absolutely no exception to this.
Set for release as a digital download and limited edition cassette tape on August 13, the LA rave staple is happy to announce her debut EP on Evar Records, Total Chaos. A brilliant testament to the cathartic importance of staying up late and getting lost in a buzzing crowd of kindred spirits, Total Chaos harnesses the universal experience of having pent-up energy into massive, angst-ridden breakbeat anthems. Over six tracks, Sha Sha channels the hair-raising spirit of ’90s rave along with her formative experiences with DMZ-via-Low End Theory dubstep and punk rock. Finding her place within LA’s bass music, house, techno and rave scenes while defying easy categorization, Sha Sha personifies the no-rules electronic music ethos behind John Frusciante and Aura T-09‘s Evar Records. To supplement Total Chaos‘ three originals, Lyzza, Machine Girl and LCY provide three raw remixes highlighting various aspects of Sha Sha Kimbo‘s renegade rave spirit.
Drawing from the Los Angeles punk rock and ’90s rave music that soundtracked her youth, Total Chaos personifies how she grew up on the dance floor, showcasing Sha Sha’s tried and true ability to express rich, nuanced emotions through tracks that, first and foremost, can level a warehouse party. Kicking off the vibe on July 30, the EP’s lead single “Save The World” is a perfect representation of this, with the jump-up rave cut employing a megaton breakbeat and sickly-sweet vocal samples over simmering base of dark, UK-influenced atmospherics. From the late night energy of the title track to the euphoric, dawn-breaking feel of “Limited Perfect,” Total Chaos offers the refuge of a robust dance floor with the warm reassurance to be one with the universe.
Rounding out Total Chaos EP are three remixes that amicably and serendipitously support Sha Sha Kimbo’s visionary aim to both explore the unknown and bring people together along the way. Brazilian-born, Amsterdam-based powerhouse Lyzza adds a full verse and a nest of serrated rhythms to her version of “Total Chaos,” while New York’s Machine Girl applies their trademark punk electronics approach to “Save The World.” Meanwhile, Bristol’s own LCY hollows out “Limited Perfect” into a haunting amalgam of post-punk minimalism and low-frequency pressure. A study of the opposing light and dark energies of underground dance music, Total Chaos presents a breakbeat-heavy vortex, sure to awaken everyone’s inner raver.
There is nothing worse than being in a relationship with someone that doesn’t communicate their feelings. Music producer Prince Paris’ latest song ‘Speak Your Mind’ via Physical Presents featuring the luscious vocals of rising singer Wilder shares that pain. We have all been in that boat before when your friend or partner won’t voice their true feelings or concerns. It is an absolutely frustrating aspect of most relationships, that makes communication become a chore, which in fact communication is key.
Previously featured onDave Rave, with the single ‘Ordinary Fools’ with the lovely vocalist Claire Ridgely, we mentioned: “Prince Paris is one to watch for all the die-hard and future house music and tropical house fans in the world.” Our previous thoughts remain the same on this new track from this renowned act that waves his Physical Presents tag with pride.
Sitting on a stellar collective play count of over 11 million streams to date, Prince Paris is a force that is beaming with potential and undeniably charming vocal house single after the next. Wilder, although a fresh talent has also received acclaim for his sound from publications like Billboard and Earmilk. He is definitely one to watch as well, with over 200 000 plays on his previous single ‘So Much More’ in collaboration with Jeffrey Sutrious and 22Bullets.
‘Keep Going On’ is the new single by Copenhagen-based duo Evil House Party, a profound and propulsive dancefloor hymn chronicling existential restlessness and hard-won self-acceptance.
Summoning pulsating synth pop, Burial-esque woodblock percussion, and convulsive acid, ‘Keep Going On’ is the third single taken from ‘Grand Theft Audio’, the debut EP by Evil House Party.
Following their debut single ‘Wicked’ and the recent sequel ‘Head Held High’ – irresistible anthems that explored themes of retribution and disillusionment – Evil House Party complete the cycle with a surging, lushly detailed song of disquiet and resilience, borne along by the lilting vocals of Emma Acs.
Revealing that ‘Keep Going On’ is the first song the duo wrote together, Jacob Formann describes the track as a defining, symbolic work that reflects their identity, a consequence of “being in love with the struggle, a sleepy banger for lonely dancefloors”, while according to Acs, ‘Keep Going On’ describes a restlessness in oneself…it’s very much about the acceptance of failure and a lost sense of self”.
‘Keep Going On’ is out digitally out now and is taken from ‘Grand Theft Audio’ – the debut EP by Evil House Party, also available digitally and on bloody splattered 12” vinyl as well as black 12” vinyl on 24th September via Third Coming.
Maria Domark proves to be more than just an aesthetically engaging persona after releasing her debut EP Flawless via P.O.F CORPtoday. Flawless sees the artist blossom as an individual as she shares her highs and woes of being in the public eye through a future pop sound fusion. Her refreshingly rebellious sound calls to mind the works of boundary-pushing acts like Poppy and Ashnikko.
‘Not Alright’ starts off the EP as a badass intro that refuses to bow down to expectation. The songstress engages us with direct lyrics and fiery beats. ‘Rumors’ and ‘Mieway’ continue the thoughts the singer has had about feeling suppressed to be herself in the past, and these three tracks celebrate her coming out of her shell and telling those who mistreated her to back off and let her claim her own space in the present. ‘Haunted’ takes a more meek approach as the singer shares that she still has a bit of trauma to work through, and that is a mature decision for an influence to share with the public and the devoted followers that have been with her from the beginning.
This track gives Maria Domark a more relatable appeal for sure as she shows her vulnerable side. ‘Amazing (Kanye cover)’ beautifully ends off the EP, with its upbeat conclusion. To me, it feels like art imitating life, as we know that the condition of being human has many lows but it will not be storming on oneself forever no matter how hopeless things may seem right now.
Azteck (Ki Fitzgerald) and Afrojack (Nick van de Wall) are going “All Night Long” with this next release! A deep dance track that will be released on Wall Recordings.
The two are no strangers to one another. They already worked together last year on the track called “Speechless”. A well-matched duo that is hitting you with another great song. It sets a mysterious mood with the deep bass vibe and on the other hand loving lyrics. Azteck and Afrojack were not sure when to put this out, as the song is fit to fill a dancefloor. Now the world is opening up, they decided to release the track.
Azteck had one of his most productive years last year and he is continuing to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with this year. He has contributed writing and producing for big names in the EDM world such as Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Tiësto, Don Diablo, and Wiz Khalifa to sum up a few. He decided in 2020 that it is going to be his time to shine. Dropping his debut single in the form of “endlessly”, a collaboration with AVIAN GRAYS on Armada Music. And he closed out 2020 with the anthem “Do It” alongside DJ’s Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Mexican singer and influencer Kimberly Loaiza. Not so long ago he dropped another title with the two Belgian brothers and Angemi called “We’ll be Dancing Soon”, which even got selected by Coca-Cola to be part of a European Campaign. Azteck’s early steps as an artist are making a huge impact. He is one to watch!
Afrojack and I made this record throughout lockdown, which has been a tough time for everyone. In the madness, we had this little idea that we kept coming back to time and time again until the idea grew into a full song. – Azteck
Afrojack has little introduction needed at this point. In recent years Afrojack has been placed on the Forbes ‘30 Under 30’, while also being named one of the 50 Most Important People in EDM by Rolling Stone. His last big release together with David Guetta is a huge success and is getting close to 25 million streams on Spotify. His achievements are nothing short of breathtaking. Nowadays he is still focused on his music and continues to give everything he has. Pushing music in bold new directions, and at the same time, he is putting a lot of effort into his label Wall Recordings. Trying to give up and coming artists a chance to make it big. Believing in new talent is what he stands for and showing them that the music industry is always within reach if you have heart for it.
You give me feeever. Or at least Hanne Mjøen does with her latest single and music video. ‘Emotional Fever’, released today via Physical Presents is the title track for the singer’s upcoming EP. Now Hanne Mjøen is a new name to some but her previous single, ‘Hell With You’ is currently making (air)waves. ‘Hell With You’ quickly surpassed a million plays across platforms, earning the singer support from the likes of PAPER Magazine and Line Of Best Fit.
Her latest single is a little more sombre and a little less “in your face”. However, if you take a moment to pause and consider, it will draw you in and wrap you in its gentle caress of teenage emotions. A coming of age song in more ways than one, ‘Emotional Fever’ takes the listener to that weird headspace of uncertainty – is this the one? Is this forever or is it just a summer fling? Maybe you’ll swing between the two – no judgement but if you do, Hanne Mjøen has created the perfect song for you.
She tells us a little about the inspiration behind the single: “The song is about having mixed feelings about someone, and not being able to decide if the person is right for you or not. One moment it feels like forever, and the next you get a panic attack and you just want to leave. And it feels like a fever because of the sudden changes you have no control over.”
This is not a dream. I repeat, this is not a dream and you can open your eyes. Renowned EDM trio Swedish House Mafia are reunited and packed with extra attitude as well as a new sound direction in their band reboot. The trio shared the news of their reunion these past few days and this information has already seen thousands of retweets and shares on social media, it kind of feels like the public is in a frenzy about the news and why would they not be? This is, after all, the trio that brought calm to the public after the conspiracies of the world ending in 2012 re-surfaced. How did they do so you might wonder?
In 2012, the trio released their anthemic single ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, which has been streamed over 600 million times on Spotify to date and certainly turned up the energy in clubs all over the world. The trio consists of members Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello who all departed from the group in 2013 to pursue other ventures. Fans across the world were disheartened about the news, but at least they ended the news with a final emotional event with Ultra Miami in 2013. It was revealed that there were indeed some creative differences and tension between the lads building up to the final show.
Now it’s a new decade, and the fires have been put out between these guys as they have shared their first offering ‘It Get’s Better’ via SSA Recording which is certainly a change of tone from their former sound. Nonetheless, the same spirit exists that makes them engaging and animated. This latest single has also been unveiled with a music video, which has a dystopian flair and it is hard not to stop watching and nodding your head along to. We look forward to seeing what this trio unveils in the week to come, and the public does as well. The video has been streamed over 7 million times on YouTube to date since its release last Thursday – enough said.
With anthemic emo energy, music producer Marcus James has exceeded our expectations yet again with his latest banger ‘The Night We Nearly Threw It All Away ft. MNYS’ via Physical Presents. It may be the catchy synth notes that have intrigued us? What we do know is that the air feels more lively listening to this latest song. Known to be a lover of collaborating with his previous EP offering Warning Sign, the artist has given emerging singer MNYS room for the spotlight as well. Marcus James previously featured on Dave Rave with the emotionally honest single ‘Honest’ with electronic duo RYYZN.
Featured on Raudiowith his collaborative EP Warning Sign, they commented on Marcus James’ overall vibe: “ Inspired by more alternative acts when it comes to lyrics and soundscapes, Marcus James pairs exceptionally together with indie dance duo RYYZN. This EP revolves around emotion-drenched lyrics that revolve around the pitfalls and growing pains of relationships of all kinds with the backdrop of airy dance-pop textures to break the weight.”
‘The Night We Nearly Threw It All Away ft. MNYS’ dwells on second chances and what-ifs? These are the questions that many wonder about when it comes to matters of the heart. One tends to forget about logic when it comes to these questions, and Marcus James remind us that it’s okay to have these feelings as we are not robots – we feel & bleed. We make mistakes as we are not perfect and this track elaborates on these feelings of love over logic.
Global chart-topping duo Icona Pop return with brand new music, joining forces with German producer and DJ duo VIZE on the track, “Off Of My Mind,” released via Ultra Music. Pulsating with serious summer anthem energy, “Off Of My Mind” looks to kick off summer festival season with a real bang. Speaking about the new song, Icona Pop reveal, “We are always so excited to release new music, especially in these times. We have been locked in the studio working on a new album for what feels like forever! We’re so happy to work with VIZE on this and can’t wait to start playing live again and to share all of our new music.” On the collaboration, VIZE adds, “It was a pleasure to work on this song together with the girls from Icona Pop. Even though we unfortunately did not have the chance to meet in person, we simply cannot wait to play this on stage. It has such a unique vibe and the vocals are so on point. We are really happy that this track finally ‘sees the light.'”
With the release of the new single, Icona Pop confirmed that work has begun on a new album, a follow up to their 2013 smash sophomore album, This Is… Icona Pop, which will turn 8-years-old this September.
